I promise to break
this promise I made.
I don't know why
I even made it.
This is just absurd.
I'm usually a woman of my word.
And that's why
I usually say:
I might
probably,
maybe
possibly,
consider it,
but I won't
promise this.
I don't know
if I can.
It's part of what I plan
to do,
but I can't be sure.
I'll just wait for
the turn out.
I'll make a deal to breach
this contract I won't keep.
Thank goodness,
it was only verbal.
If this was on paper,
it wouldn't turn out in my favor.
That's why
I usually say:
I might
probably,
maybe
possibly
consider it,
but I won't
promise this.
I don't know
if I can.
It's part of what I plan
to do,
but I can't be sure.
I'll just wait for
the turn out.
I've apologized
because I've realized
that promises are meant to be broken
and my deals should remain unspoken.
I'm not one
to keep one.
I've known this truth
for so long.
And I vow to never
promise anything again.
That is why I say
these words so often:
I might
probably,
maybe
possibly,
consider it,
but I won't
promise this.
I don't know
if I can.
It's part of what I plan
to do,
but I can't be sure.
I'll just wait for
the turn out.
wow, great job Raven.
Good ideas.and That's why no one should make promises.
I wrote this song after I remembered that I promised one of my x's that I'd call him back Friday night, and I totally didn't. He doesn't keep tab though, so it's all good. Flexible people kick ass!
